This is Arney Mountain near Mclean Ontario. It is very small by mountain standards but it happens to be a very important natural feature of this area. From the summit you have a clear 360 degree view of the topography of the area. This is a great vantage point to orient your map to the real world. Do not get excited about Arney’s mountain status. At just 240 meters above sea level.(780 feet) you can reach the top from the road in less than one minute.
Arney Mountain and the surrounding area was the site of the first Econo Challenge in 1994. A four day hard lesson on how much we did not know about camping in the wilderness.
